There are several breaks in the reef or “cuts” around Bermuda. The Eastern Blue Cut is one of the largest such breaks in the reef. The flow of nutrients through this area make it one of the most spectacular snorkeling sites in the world. The site is protected from all fishing, and there are plenty of fish to see. They tend to be bigger and less cautious than fish at other snorkeling sites in Bermuda. As with most reefs around Bermuda, this one has a number of shipwrecks (including the nearby Sea Venture).
